SoulTribe Jitsi Guest Quick-Start

This guide shows first-time guests how to join SoulTribe Jitsi rooms with confidence. Choose the steps you need. Text, audio, and video are all optional.

Pre-Join Instructions

  1. Know your options. Jitsi supports text, audio, and video. You decide what to enable, and each channel can stay off.
  2. Grant permissions. When the login page requests access, allow your browser to use the microphone and camera so you can turn them on later.
  3. Set up before entering.
    • Name: Enter how you’d like others to see you in the meeting.
    • Mic & camera: Use the first two icons to toggle them on or off before you join.
    • Devices: Click each icon’s small arrow to pick the right microphone or webcam.
    • Audio tip: A headset or headphones avoids echo. If you need to use speakers, keep the volume low to prevent feedback.
    • Background: Choose blur or a virtual background if you want extra privacy.

Browser Compatibility

✅ Firefox & Chrome: Full support for audio, video, and chat.

🚫 Safari, Edge, Opera, Brave, DuckDuckGo: Not supported.

Other niche browsers have not been verified.

  • Enable mic/cam permissions in the browser address bar if prompted.
  • Turn off tracker blockers or add Jitsi to the allow-list.
  • Reload the tab after changing permissions to apply the new settings.

In-Room Interface Layout

The main video area in the center shows everyone currently on camera. Along the bottom, the control bar holds all key icons, including mic, camera, screen share, chat, participants, and more options. Use the arrow drawer on the right edge to open the participant list and shared screens.

Toolbar Icons

Icon Label Description
Microphone Toggle your microphone and open the device menu using the arrow icon .
Camera Toggle your camera and choose devices from the menu arrow .
Screen Share Share your screen or window. Click to pick a tab, window, or full desktop.
Chat Open text chat to send messages or share links. Tap to toggle the side panel.
Participants / Invite Invite others or view the current participant list. Copy the room link or admit waiting guests.
More Options Open security options, device settings, or additional tools. Set a password or adjust lobby mode.
Hang Up Leave the room.
